Hannah's room -so long.....

Most of my friends and family are aware of Hannah's room make over.  It all came about when Caitlin was going to college.  Their room had not been updated in about 9 years so the purple and pink had to go.

Spongebob bedding-:)

Hannah picked out the color and I knew I wanted black and white accent colors so I quickly searched for an inspiration picture.  So here it is.

I would have loved to have purchased this bed from Pottery Barn but it was not in the budget and we already had a similar platform storage bed.  I just reused what we had.

Well in order to make room for Caitlin to come back home, Hannah's room once again became Caitlin and Hannah's room.  Her two years of having the room to herself, is up.  I think she really doesn't mind.  She would rather share and have her sister back, than have the room to herself.  At least that is what she says.  stay tuned for current room pictures... it has been a project over the last few months.

So here is what's going on in our little part of the world...

Busy summer so far...  I was reminded by my oldest daughter that blogging is not really about the followers and how many you have.  It is for the blogger.  If you gain some followers because they like your blog then that is great...  So far the summer work schedule has not slowed down.  Such a huge part of my life is taken up by my career, of which I love.  It is exhausting at times, but I do love it.  My children know me and understand,  and often help me out, they know they come first.  They are older now and have lots to keep them busy.  Our house is upside down right now.  Part of the reason is it is small and we just have accumulated so much stuff.  Despite us cleaning out old things, we still have more stuff than house.    We have a plan in place.  Caitlin had accumulated her household things for her apartment last year at college, and we are in the process of bringing her final items home, her lease is up in a few days.  I am so glad she is home.  We three musketeers are just better together.  Caitlin and I both agree she needed to go away for the two years, it was best.  She has grown so much and I am proud of the young woman she has become.  While she determines what she wants to "be" when she grows up, she made the decision to stay home and attend our local University.
Caitlin has been in search for a part time job, no luck yet.  She does have a very successful blog, www.caitlinscreativecorner.com, where she shares her love for all things that have to do with her addiction to nail polish.  She is creative and has grown her blog over the past few months.  She also has been planning her trip to London.  We are so excited for her.
Hannah has been enjoying her time home for the summer.  Band camp is just around the corner and before we know it we will be in the fast pace whirlwind of football and band season.
Can't forget the few home projects we have up our sleeve.....
My mom's bedroom makeover - will blog about soon
       Our bathroom makeover-  Not started
Last, my bedroom changes and makeover- in progress.

Stay tuned, I hope to not let so much time lapse between posts.

Hannah's amazing Room Re-Do!

Living in a 2Br home my girls have always had to share a bedroom.  I am sure they would have loved not to have to share, but in a way I think it kept them close.  We painted their room colors of their choice 8 years ago.  Caitlin wanted Pink and Hannah wanted purple.  So we painted two walls pink and two walls purple.  Since the girls have obviously grown up alot in 8 years, we are also at a transition period.  Caitlin is off at college and Hannah has the room to herself, except for the few and far between visits from her sister.  Caitlin was 100% in support of changing the room.  So we did.

Room Before......

Hannah picked the color for the room.  We pulled every shade of blue from the paint chips at Lowes that we thought would work.  Hannah was not happy with any of them.  Finally she decided she liked the color that was on a tag on the papasan chair we purchased from Pier 1.  The tag had a very pretty blue, that we had Lowes color match.  I carried that tag around in my pocket book for 2 months matching different items for the room.  Well here is a picture of the room when it was finished ( well at least this corner)
